Gambling.com Group Ltd Announces Leadership Transition with Gregg Michaelson Stepping Down
The multi-award-winning supplier of digital marketing services for the global online gambling industry, Gambling.com Group Ltd, has revealed a significant change at the top with the announcement of Gregg Michaelson’s resignation this spring. The NASDAQ-listed company confirmed that Michaelson will officially step down from the board of directors on May 14, 2025, during the annual shareholder meeting, marking a smooth leadership transition.

Michaelson will also be leaving his position on the Compensation Committee, but according to Gambling.com, his decision is unrelated to any internal disputes or company issues. His departure is seen as part of the company’s regular leadership transition process. Stepping into his place is Jayme Mendal, the current CEO of EverQuote, Inc. (NASDAQ: EVER).
Mendal, a Harvard Business School graduate, is known for his expertise in leading digital platforms. During his nearly eight years at EverQuote, the company has shown impressive growth, with a 74% increase in revenue and a 96% gross margin in the past year alone. EverQuote’s recent Q4 earnings also exceeded expectations, with earnings per share of $0.33, well above the projected $0.19.
Mendal to Bring Continued Momentum
Upon joining the board on May 15, Mendal will also take Michaelson’s seat on the Compensation Committee and serve as a Class II director through the 2026 annual general meeting. Gambling.com shareholders are optimistic that Mendal’s track record will bring continued momentum to the group. Needham analysts have already raised their price target on EverQuote shares from $30 to $38 while maintaining a “Buy” rating.
With strong first-quarter guidance and a healthy cash position of $102.1 million with zero debt, EverQuote is poised for further growth under Mendal’s leadership. The Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee recommended the board change, following Gambling.com’s standard procedure for onboarding independent, non-employee directors.
The update was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on April 4. Gambling.com shareholders are hopeful that Mendal’s appointment will drive the company towards smart, growth-oriented leadership and continued success in the online gambling industry.
