Las Vegas Sands, a renowned casino and hospitality giant, has officially commenced the construction of its highly-anticipated Marina Bay Sands expansion project. The $8 billion development is set to bring significant improvements to the company’s portfolio in Singapore.
A Revolutionary Project for LVS and Singapore
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project took place on July 15, marking the start of construction that is expected to be completed by June 2030. The event was attended by top company officials, along with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu Hai.
Prime Minister Wong highlighted the strong partnership between Singapore and LVS, expressing his gratitude for the company’s trust in the country’s future and commitment to expansion. He emphasized the positive impact the project will have on the tourism and hospitality sector, looking forward to elevated relations with the operator.

Anticipated Features of Marina Bay Sands 2.0
The ambitious Marina Bay Sands 2.0 project will introduce a new 55-story building housing 570 premium suites, along with a cutting-edge gaming area offering diverse gambling experiences. The expansion will also include a range of shops, dining options, and recreational facilities to cater to visitors’ needs.
Furthermore, the new property will feature a 200,000 square foot space for meetings, conventions, and exhibitions, complete with a 15,000-seat arena designed by Populous, known for creating the iconic Las Vegas Sphere. Additionally, a 76,000-square-foot Skyloop will offer multiple restaurants, gardens, infinity-edge pools, and various private and public spaces, reminiscent of the main Marina Bay Sands structure.
